Bexley Voice for Special Needs Children

'Bexley Voice is a parent-led voluntary group for carers of children and young people (age 0-25) with special/additional needs and disabilities (SEND) living in the London Borough of Bexley.  As the Parent Carer Forum for Bexley, we provide an opportunity for parent/carers to have a ‘voice’ and input into the planning and delivery of SEND services.   We signpost, support and empower families to obtain the best possible care and services.'

Bexley Voice membership is free to all.  You can visit the website or contact them using the details below:

As much of our support is currently delivered via our private parent/carer Facebook group, we encourage all parent/carer members to join.  You can do this by completing the form on our website, or emailing Frances at bexleyvoice@hotmail.co.uk and asking her to give you access. Please note, you need to ensure you provide the email address that is linked to your Facebook account rather than any other email you use.

Bexley Voice – Parent Carer Forum Information Page – can be found by anyone and will be used to let people know what we have done and what we will be doing. It will not duplicate the information that is provided in the Bexley Voice Group and we hope it will mean we are more easily found by a broader group of parents and others who may need to know about us.

Bexley Moorings

The parent/carer network is open to all those who live within the Borough of Bexley and look after a young person aged up to 24.

The group is fully inclusive – and it is therefore relevant to parent/carers of both SEN young people and their siblings.  No Referral is required.  Once the attached Registration Form is completed, the parent/carer can join in with everything we run.  There are no rules around engagement and members can be as involved as they like.

We also have a Facebook page:   Bexley Flare Parent Group where we share our own information along with relevant community info.

Youth Action Diversity Trust (YADT)

YADT Behavioural Support Service: Being a young person in today’s world is challenging and here at YADT, we understand that some young people need a little extra support to help them get a positive start in life or overcome obstacles along the way.

We work with young people and their families to understand Autism and ADHD behaviours, helping them to develop strategies for a calmer family life. We help young people with the difficulties that affect them, these can be a number of issues such as anger management, social anxiety, improving confidence, enhancing communication and dealing with stress and loss.

Our friendly support service is for young people aged 5 to 17 years and can be delivered as one-to-one support or family support sessions. We charge £40 per session for this behavioural support and all our meetings take place at the North Cray Neighbourhood Centre, in Sidcup, which is neutral ground for most families.

YATD have lots of useful courses for parents - take a look!
